27-September happened to be World Tourism Day and while it seems a little too early to start travelling again, you can always create spaces that bring back fond memories of travel and even inspire wanderlust. Decorating your housewith artefacts, souvenirs and travel related memorabilia not only creates happy homes but also add plenty of character to any space.

Since home decor is a passion with me, I am inspired by a lot of things I see and observe while I travel, whether it is art, architecture or just about anything that has rustic, charming vibes. A home always has to be a reflection of your personality and what better way to showcase your individual personality than by decorating it with travel inspired accessories. Here are some pictures.

One of the best accessories for travel inspired decor are travel books, maps and globes.

An atlas is my favourite…

Artefacts and accessories that reflect local art and craft form for great decor ideas whether it is the Gond painting of Madhya Pradesh, brassware of Tanjore or even the blocks of Rajasthan which are used in block printing.

Create a gallery wall of your favourite pictures from travel trips of the past to relive some precious memories.

Or if you are a lover of local craft, why not create a wall showcasing collections you picked up during your travel.

Travel souvenirs like mirrors, native fabrics and handlooms are a great option if you want to add a unique touch to your home.

Last but not the least, you can display miscellaneous items like trunks, vintage suitcases, mini buses, maps or even ships which continue to fuel your love and inspiration to travel.

Nice article…. …woow nice… lots of brass items every where….. i like that copper sulphate blue procelene jug……we were looking for similar teak sofa… where you got it…..you got nice collection… you can create a mini museum!!!
