As mentioned in my previous post, the decor at the newly opened Grand Mercure, Gopalan Mall in Bangalore is awe inspiring to say the least. With photo opportunities everywhere and instagram worthy pictures at literally every corner, the decor of the hotel is a design lovers’ delight. Here are some captures:
Bright spaces with clever use of colour
Vibrant yet elegant, the decor at Grand Mercure is replete with bright, delightful colours. Whether it is the colour of the walls, furnishings or upholstery, the colours complement each other and bring in a cheerful vibe to the entrire space.
Innovative use of mirrors and lighting
The decor brings in multiple creative lighting options including statement pendant lights, Moroccan lamps and the stylish ambient lighting. The design incorporates mirrors aplenty which adds a sense of depth and dimension to the space. Needless to mention, the entire set up creates a play of light and shade that is quite magical.
Poetry in Stone
What I loved was the usage of plenty of natural stone in the décor in the form of statement artefacts. Whether it is the magnificent statue of Lord Buddha outside or the endearing pair of elephants at the entrance, these sculptures sure lend a royal vibe to the place. The large stone urli filled with aromatic rose petals in the reception accentuates the entire setting while complementing the traditional look and feel.
Quirky accessories and statement walls
Walking around the hotel was a treat for my eyes given my love for eclectic decor. With unique, distinctive accessories on display at every nook, the interiors are full of character and in sync with the hotel’s Hoysala theme.
Art galore
The hotel is full of art displays whether in the form of Pichwai paintings, Kathakali masks or digital art.
