I attended my first ever blogger meet last Sunday, 8th May which also happened to be Mother’s Day.  It was truly a memorable experience and one that I will cherish forever.

Held at the Vivanta by Taj at M.G. Road in Bengaluru, the meet started with an informative session by famous childhood nutrition expert Jill Castle that was quite an eye opener. Jill highlighted the importance of micro nutrients for immunity and healthy growth as also the significance of dietary diversification and food fortification.   Her session was useful and helped one understand the need for nutrients like calcium, selenium and their significance in the overall development and growth of children.  A blogger and a mother of four adorable children, Jill made the presentation interactive making it interactive and insightful.

This was followed by a session by Amaan Khan, head of marketing GSK who reiterated the importance of micro nutrients and the vital role played by Horlicks in the same. He mentioned the 23 vital nutrients in Horlicks and how the brand has increased the quantum of Selenium and vitamin D in order to cater to the complete micro nutrient requirements of a child’s body.

This was followed by an insightful panel discussion by eminent speakers from the healthcare field. There was time allocated for questions and an exciting quiz was a fitting end to the program.

Apart from this, the best part of the meet was the interaction with fellow bloggers and I am so glad to have meet three other absolutely wonderful bloggers with whom I hit off instantly. Four of us (Sunita who blogs at https://adsunsri.wordpress.com, Kokila who blogs at www.sunshineandblueclouds.blogspot.com and Shital who blogs at http://kitchenkatta.com/) gelled really well and we had a great time together.

Many thanks to Indiblogger and Horlicks for making the meet thoroughly enjoyable and a great success.
