A beautiful view of the Bengaluru palace and an uninterrupted view of the city’s skyline is visible as you enter the stylish interiors of Caprese, Shangri-La Hotel, Bengaluru’s Mediterranean Speciality Restaurant. Located on the 18th level, the restaurant’s decor is chic, classy and dotted with some exclusive pieces of pottery. The 94 seater restaurant along with the open seating area offers multiple aerial views of the wonderful city, something that you do not see very often.
The restaurant serves a mix of Spanish, Italian and Middle Eastern delicacies all of which are curated with high-quality ingredients, most of which are hand-picked locally and some imported. There is an inviting ‘cheese selection’ with some of the most delectable cheese to choose from and a variety of starters to choose from. The unique Mezze platter served with Hummus, mutabal, babaganoush and labneh is a must try.
The refreshing Caprese salad which is one of their signature preparations with Creamy burrata cheese was extremely enjoyable. It was heartening to know that the cheese is sourced locally and is a favorite with even the expat crowd.
The penne pasta in creamy tomato sauce with sautéed eggplant and Eggplant parmigiana were flavorful and wholesome.
The highlight of the meal was the Tiramisu that is one of the most popular Italian desserts which literally means “pick me up”. Dating back to the 1970s, this is a mouth watering preparation that blends the contrasting bold flavours of cocoa and espresso with savoury mascarpone cheese and wine, layered with lady finger biscuits.
At Caprese, the experience of having Tiramisu has been made all the more special with all the components being mixed live on the table. The subtle flavours of mascarpone and Italian custard combine with the strong espresso and authentic cocoa powder making it a rich treat indeed. This is an experience that should not be missed!
Well arranged, Well captured.
Thank you Shiva!
