About and Contact

Welcome to Rashminotes! Thanks for stopping by.

This blog is a journal of my tryst with travel, food and décor.  Some of my hobbies include travel, reading, writing, photography, home decor and cooking.

Travel for me is not always about taking a break or relaxing. Many a time, my travels involve hectic schedules as I want to make most of my visit to any destination.  Apart from visiting the tourist attractions of a place, I love to venture out exploring the ‘unconventional’  and the ‘uncommon’. Learning about the unique customs and culture of a place, interacting with the locals and sampling the local and authentic cuisine is always on my “to-do” list while travelling.   According to me a destination is best enjoyed when you travel with awareness and advocate responsible and sustainable tourism.

That said, I firmly believe that the journey is as important as the destination.  So my travel posts include journals, post pertaining to experiential travel and treading off the beaten track.

Food is yet another area of personal interest.  Home cooking, authentic/heirloom recipes, native cuisines and traditional methods of cooking are some aspects that are close to my heart.  I also love to experiment with new food products, recipes and cuisine as long as they are natural and healthy.

Apart from travel and food, I am passionate about everything related to home décor be it plants, artefacts or recycling and up cycling stuff, something that I particularly enjoy.   I love antiques, heirlooms and anything vintage.  Apart from that I am a big fan of kitsch and adore things that are quirky, rustic and shabby chic.

I hope you enjoy reading my diaries as much as I enjoy posting them.  I would love to hear your comments and feedback.

All the images on the blog are either mine or are attributed to their original source (or the most original source I can find!). If you use any images from my blog that are my own, please link back to their source.  Also, if you would like to share articles, I ask that you credit me as the writer (or credit the writer as well as the link back to this source in the case of guest posts) and do not make any alterations to the text.

Enjoy reading!

Do drop me a mail, I will be happy to contribute to a guest process.

  10. Great to connect with another passionate traveler. I think I am a bit opposite to you. Sort of lazy travelers, in the sense, I usually don’t do much research before going to a place. But I know that you are right, one will get most out from the trip, if they do research before hand! Looking forward to more travel stories from you.
