Return of the Tiger Trail: a royal food safari

If you are looking to enjoy a sumptuous Indian meal in the heart of the city, the Return of the Tiger Trail, in Ramada Bangalore is definitely an option to consider.  With a distinctive ‘tiger’ theme as the backdrop, the restaurant traces the tiger’s trail across the  Indian states right from Rajasthan, Bengal to our very own Karnataka.

Cuisine and fare

The cuisine is Indian and the spread that is both lavish and large is truly one that exudes grandeur and royalty.  The fare includes both non-vegetarian and vegetarian dishes.  The carefully curated menu includes gastronomic delights that have distinctive flavors and the choicest of ingredients.

Apart from a wide range of mock-tails and cocktails, appetizers like the Panner Ttikka, Lahore subzi sheek and Paneer dahi ki tikki are some of the favorites. The assortment of sauces served with the starters only add to the flavor.

The main course includes some inviting dishes from the kitchens all across India.  The Corbett se Aloo, Subzi jaipuri and the Sarson ka saag were flavorsome and very palatable.  Made from garden fresh vegetables and tempered with invigorating spices, these are definitely a treat to your taste buds.

Their bread basket is not to missed with some unique twists to the usual ‘naan’ and includes the Kalonji Naan and Ajwani Naan. Rice lovers have a fair choice of delicacies too.

For those of you with a sweet tooth, there are the Indian classics like the Rasmalai, Gulab jamoon and the Phirni.  The “Kubani ka meeta” which is a Hyderabadi specialty made from apricots, custard and cream is a lip smacking dessert you must sample.

    1. Thank you so much. Yes the sarson ka saag is essentially a Punjabi specialty and I was pleasantly surprised to sample it in Bangalore.
      Appreciate your feedback:)

  1. What a great review. Well written. I’ve worked with many Indians from Bangalore and New Delhi and have come to appreciate the cusine. I love samosas! This restaurant looks like it has high quality food. The broccoli dish is styled nicely.
