Horlicks Growth+: a catalyst in catching up on lost growth

A child is a source of utmost joy in a parent’s life but not one that comes without challenges. With a young child, each day is a unique experience coupled with a cocktail of emotions, surprise and anticipation.  Well, a child is completely dependent on its parents especially its mother to ensure its nutritional needs are taken care of.  This is also another reason that initially an infant is recommended exclusive breastfeeding. As the child grows older, this becomes a bigger challenge as children can be fussy eaters. Also, most children veer towards unhealthy food choices as today they have access to information from all quarters – whether television, the internet or friends!  And perhaps the easy availability and accessibility coupled with the convenience factor of instant or ready to eat foods make them extremely popular.

This, however, can take a big toll on the nutritional requirements of children resulting in frequent illnesses and below average growth.  And naturally when the kids do not meet their height and weight milestones, parents naturally tend to worry. It is definitely a great source of tension and anxiety for the parents.  Hence, catching up on lost growth is of vital importance and in fact imperative for the physical and psychological well being of the child.

So how do you ensure your child is getting the right nutrition and supplements that can not only aid his or her healthy growth but also catch up on lost growth?

Well along side nutritious home cooked food, one choice you can make is to add Horlicks to your child’s diet. So why Horlicks? Well for starters, this is a clinically proven formulation that has shown visible growth in 6 months among children who have a regular intake of the same. It is recommended that the child takes two servings of Horlicks Growth+ per day as it contains as much protein as 1¼ cup of cheese, Vitamin C as much as 2 medium sized lemons, calcium as much as  ⅔ of a cup of milk, phosphorus as in 2 tablespoons of pumpkin seeds, iron as much as 2 bowls of spinach, as much zinc as in ½ a cup of cow peas and as much Vitamin A as in 2 medium sized carrots. So getting important vitamins and minerals that is essential for growing years in children naturally gets addressed by using Horlicks.

Additionally, the importance of a balanced diet can hardly be over emphasized.   And if there is one element that falls short especially in a vegetarian diet it is protein.  Children need 1.2 times the protein adults need to make sure their growth is as per milestones and 80% of the protein consumed is used by the body for growth and development. This is where Horlicks Growth+ with its special formula that uses high quality whey protein that can be easily digested and quickly absorbed helps. In fact you can start the child soon after he or she turns three for the best benefits.  This works well for children till the age of 9. The combination of essential amino acids Arginine, Glutamic acid, Leucine and Lysine11 apart from Calcium, Iron, Vitamin D, Vitamin A, Vitamin C and Zinc help children grow well.

  1. What an informative article! I had tried to give Horlicks to my baby but its sad she never liked the taste of it 🙁 But she did show a liking towards Ovaltine and Milo. And that worked good enough for me! :))..so true, kids these days are picky eaters to an extent that this can take moms for a roller-coaster ride 🙂

  2. I used to be a Horlicks girl as a child, eating it sometimes too! Although it doesn’t occupy a place at home now, it used to be a pretty big part of my childhood breakfast…
