Upcycling idea: Old door to a multi-function table

This short post is about a fairly straight forward make over of an old wide single door to a versatile table that can be used in more ways than one.

As the wood of the door was pretty solid, all I had to do was to ask the carpenter to fit in four legs which he did quite well, albeit I wish the legs were a bit shorter. The grey door with the legs was then painted a pristine white.

Here are some of the “before” pictures.

Since the size of the door was quite big, the table is also large and hence serves as a good center piece that is particularly useful when entertaining guests.

The tall legs give the table the ideal height for it to be transformed into a work station; one where you can comfortably sit on the floor with your legs stretched under and work endlessly for hours!

The height also helps transform it into a temporary seating area in case you have a sudden inflow of guests.  The table is sturdy and again at an ideal height which makes it easy for guests (both kids and adults) to sit on.  So the ‘long’ legs were not so bad after all!

Have you tried your hand at upcycling as yet? I would love to hear from you.
